Welcome To Singapore

Right now, nobody should be unfamiliar with the title above.

At least, not Singaporeans.

I am not a fan of Pirates of the Caribbean, but Chow Yun-Fat said Welcome to Singapore in its teaser trailer got everyone living in Singapore excited.

Q:
Did the Singapore film sets bear any resemblance to the actual Singapore of that era?

Chow Yun-Fat:
I believe in the 17th century and even today in the part of Singapore closest to the Malacca Straits we still see a lot of Indonesian fish farms and fishing villages where they live very close like that.

Couldn't remember when, but ever since this trailer first launched in cinemas, Pirates of Caribbean posters were put up in an elaborate manner everywhere.

Walked through the Dhoby Ghaut Interchange, I saw pillars welcoming me to Singapore.

Took a lift in Cineleisure, I saw Chow Yun-Fat in his pirate costume. Instinctively, I said out loud WELCOME TO SINGAPORE, only to find out that another girl in the lift said WELCOME TO SINGAPORE to her friends too and left the whole lift laughing at us.

Had dinner at Swensons, waiters and waitress can't wait to show me how much they welcome me to Singapore by dressing up like pirates.

Slowly slowly, I float up into the space to see whole Singapore island shouting at me WELCOME TO SINGAPOREEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
