Good Bye 2008! Hello 2009!

Just cut short all my nails! So felt like its time for my comeback here for some speed blogging.

Let me first condemn those people with super long block leave from Xmas to New Year and also those scheming ones who applied leave for days in between these festive seasons long ago. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I think Marina Bay is having loads of trouble as 2008 is marking its end. Known for the Feng Shui of turning in fortune for Singapore, the Flyer actually stopped its operation until after the New Year's day. Now that is not very auspicious already. Does it somehow depict the economy of Singapore for 2009? Then, the iconic Marina Bay Countdown Party was also canceled 'due to unforeseen circumstances'. The notice is so subtle I think most people who bought the tickets still do not know about it. Happy New Year to them too.

2008 wasn't as fulfilling in terms of work satisfaction and self-upgrading as 2007 was for me. Nonetheless, I had my fair bit of fun, joy and laughter with all the beloved ones around me. The loads of traveling I've done this year have seriously widened my horizon by a thousand times too. Work, Love and Play. They are all divided on this strange pie. This is especially true for me for the past 2.5 years. More love and play equates to less satisfaction in work while more fulfilling moments at work brought unhappiness to the love pie of my life. You do the math.

Anyway, my New Year resolution for 2009 is, I will not forget that chunk of resolutions in my mind right now.

Histories

Yesterday night after dinner at home, I was suddenly inspired from nowhere to find my neoprints from school days. Did I say I'm not a History person many times here before? I realised, after looking back at all these past stuffs I am more convinced that I am not!

To me, every day in History couldn't be any better than today and tomorrow.

Yeah, I still smiled at funny moments caught on those tiny stickers, but, it's not very nice to see myself in 2 high pony tails with short fringe okay. Definitely not with the flat hair I spent hours using water to comb it down in toilet either. That is why I won't be showing those neoprints here muahaha.

Sigh. The ME then must have thought the new hairstyle I did was much better than yesterday's, and even yay-ed.

Then, since I don't like History, why am I keeping all these memories in that shoebox?

Seriously, I HAVE NO IDEA. For a clean and green Earth? Reduce, Reuse, Recycle? Or, am just being superstitious that throwing pictures might get some ill-omen when bad people pick them up? I don't know!

Maybe, I just kept them to proof that I have a better present and future, to serve as a reminder and encouragement that nothing as bad as yesterday will happen today.

Not really... It didn't feel like any of the above reasons.


It felt.. just like my blog. I don't read my past entries.. I will only retrieve them for information I need.



Haha guess I am too bored to be pondering all these... It's fun though, thinking about why you will do it this and not that way.


And the reason, I realised, couldn't be any simpler...



No matter how much I hate History, I need memories...



I need memories to remind me how much I have grown, I need memories to reaffirm decisions that I have made back in the past, I need memories to help me decide the correct path to go on, and I definitely need memories to guide my kids, grandchildren and great grandchildren in the future!

Memories are what made me the way I am now!




Phew. Glad that none of ME in any day of History decided I don't need memories anymore. Thanks to that pony-tailed Sandy in 1997 who slept through History class! THANK YOU.



To the future Sandys, I am glad to be part of your growing up memories! You are the best today! Look forward to tomorrow too, cos' you won't wanna miss a better you!



And hey kid, stop laughing at your mommy. She was a really solid babe to be writing all these down and showing you right now. Learn from her will ya!

Also currently playing in my new 'Current ★ Songs' playlist, Jay Chou has once again created a song out to make me cry.

The previous song I cried to was 搁浅 in Kbox. Jiayi has since been unable to forget my crying ordeal while Tak Yee cried together with me WAHAHA.

This song is gonna be out together with 10 others in his latest album, 魔杰座 (Capricorn). Being 'very supportive', I've heard all the songs and I can only say it is a must-buy album rated at 4.5/5 Sandeestars.

And as for this favorite song of mine in the album, I give it full marks.

If you still remember this boy from the 2005's Project Superstar, it's time you forget about him.


Listen to this album like you've never known him before.



Seems like Warner Music is doing some serious business with him.

This first album of his not only gets an interesting and catchy name, Unclassified, it also compiles all the carefully selected songs of high calibre from music composition to production.

You will feel injustice for Kelly Poon, Shi Xin Hui, or even Chen Weilian, from the same batch of Project Superstars as Derrick.

Of course, credit not only goes to his pampering company, Derrick has also improved tremendously in his singing after army. If you expect to find some rubbish songs in this album, you'll be disappointed. Derrick is really lucky to have all these nice songs and I personally feel that he didn't disappoint the song composers' efforts by putting in lots of feelings and techniques.

Boy turned man? You decide.

Three roads in Lanchester, Korea and Japan respectively in the following videos are designed and tuned for the usual boring 'wooooo' sound your tires make with roads to become a melody. This is an advertising gimmick for Honda's Civic, widely known as the Honda Musical Roads.

This road is now paved over already. It is such a waste to remove such a brilliant work, due to some complaining residents nearby as they have to listen to it everyday repeatedly due to tourists attracted here to drive.



No idea what song this is, but the marks on the road are sooooo brilliant don't you think so?! I BET IT WAS JAPANESE WHO MADE THIS!
